Are iRobot Roombas Worth It?

You come back home from work and the floor is clean (again)…and it’s the same thing tomorrow, and day after tomorrow, and whenever you want it to be. If you feel like this, you probably have one of those robot vacuum cleaners! And (according to many) if you want the best you buy Roomba (and you pay some good money for it). Is Roomba robotic vacuum worth the money? Let’s see what our analysis says…

iRobot Roombas – Why are they considered as one of the best?

The Roomba iRobot family offers a wide selection of robots for vacuuming and mopping, so if you need to choose the right one it is actually not a simple task given the wide range of models. The iRobots technology keeps improving with every following model. Latest model robots’ technology makes it even easier to explore and recognize your space, it uses advanced techniques to free your living space from pet hair, it empties its own container…and does lot more really cool and smart things.

Considering that Roomba iRobots come in a price range from around $275 and go up to a $1000! With a lot of competition out there, the key question is “are iRobots worth the money?”.

First, we will avoid giving it an evaluation according to what promotions say about the Roomba machines. Of course, when you look at the specs of any Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner you will see top notch technology solutions and industry leading ideas, and that shouldn’t be questioned at any point. But, according to Amazon reviews (and it’s usually 20k+ reviews), any iRobot you pick will have the score rating of 4 to 5 stars, with most having around 4.5 stars! That’s a great rating for any product and with such high volume of rates, it speaks for itself.

Our test sample was iRobot Roomba 675 (this product has rating score of 4.4, on 68,704 ratings!). Does it do the job it says will do – yes. Does it do it on the high efficiency – yes. Do we like it – definitely yes. Does it cost a lot of money – unfortunately yes…this model comes with the starting price of $245! Other cons of this model (and seems other Roomba models as well) are it doesn’t work or at least do well on shaggy carpets, some models (like 675) could have more suction power.

Final answer to the main question – is it worth the money? – yes, BUT…there are alternatives, other smaller brands that will give you more for the same money, or be cheaper without compromising the quality, and still do a fairly good job!

What are the alternatives and how good are they?

Big brand names aside (Samsung, Roborock, Robovac, AEG…), two brands definitely mentioning and paying attention to are Xiaomi and ACEKOOL.

Iron – Probably something you wouldn’t think would be a part of this list. Probably wouldn’t even remember it when making the list, and again but… Ironing is an essential part of maintaining your clothes looking clean, and it helps you maintaining personal presentation.
